The firm was established in 1990 by Daan Seymore and traded as Daan Seymore Attorneys in Sabie.

At the beginning of 2008, Jan Hendrik du Toit and Cornelia Basson joined the firm as Partners, establishing the Partnership Seymore du Toit & Basson Attorneys with the vision of building a diverse law firm that prides itself on delivering the best legal services in the Lowveld region.

In 2010, we established our main office at 14 Murray Street, Nelspruit, and have since grown in size and proficiency. Our fields of specialisation as well as our dynamic workforce are rapidly expanding, and will continue to do so in the years to come.

Seymore du Toit & Basson is divided into the following departments:

Transfers

Apart from the transferring of property, this department also specialises in all property matters, including drafting of agreements, subdivision and consolidation, notarial leases and servitudes, applications, consents and servitudes.

Bond and Bond Cancellations

We serve on all the major banks' panels, including, ABSA, First Rand National, Nedbank, Standard Bank and SA Home Loans, attending to bond registrations and bond cancellations.

Wills and Estates

This department specialises in deceased estate transfers and drafting of wills. Having a valid Will will furthermore ensure that your estate is administered accordingly to your wishes.

Litigation

Our litigation professionals deal with an array of matters which include environmental, commercial, debt collection, foreclosures,  and divorces in all forums.

Labour and Employment Law

The labour department specialises in general labour compliance as well as disputes, particularly in the CCMA and Labour court.

Seymore Du toit & Basson believes that we have a social responsibility to our region. We are committed to the social welfare of the communities we serve and place great importance on our involvement.

We have also supported various organisations who give back to the community, some of which include: The Komati Care Centre, Huis Abraham Kriel, GRIP-Greater Rape Intervention Project; and have spearheaded many projects of our own.
