Mirelle is an associate in the Litigation Department at Seymore du Toit & Basson, specialising in debt recovery services and litigation. Due to her vast experience in Magistrate’s court and High Court litigation, Mirelle can assist clients with all types of debt recovery services as well as specialised debt recovery such as residential and commercial evictions, rental collections and applications to have immovable property declared executable.
During her tenure at Seymore du Toit & Basson, Mirelle has been focusing on debt recovery for financial institutions such as banks and other institutions that offer asset financing services as well as for body corporates and home owners’ associations.
Mirelle’s passion for litigation and dispute resolution was ignited and cultivated during her time at the law faculty of the University of Pretoria, which led her to start her career in a general litigation practice as a candidate attorney. After being admitted as an attorney, Mirelle began to specialise in debt recovery and has more than 5 years of experience in assisting private clients, corporate clients, financial institutions as well as government institutions.
Consumer law has evolved significantly over the past 5 years and Mirelle’s vast knowledge thereof can assist clients regarding compliance with relevant legislation when drawing up credit agreements and can advise clients of possible pitfalls in securing their debt.
Mirelle has a passion for good food and wine and believes that quality time is spent with friends and family over a good meal. Mirelle also has a heart for disadvantaged communities and is involved in a few community based charity projects.
